View list of competition results: 2011 – 2012 The Club conducts several competitions, which are open to members only. The main competition, known as the monthly competition, is staged through six separate monthly rounds from September to March and is intended to give every member the opportunity to assess and monitor his or her photographic proficiency by presenting work to a succession of independent judges.The DPI secretary is Jay Martin. He will accept image files on DVD, CD-ROM, memory card, memory stick, memory pen, ie all the common media, and also by e-mail, using the following address – mrjay321@hotmail.com. Club Battles
| Friendly but keenly contested photographic battles are held during the season with neighbouring camera clubs. A battle is similar to a club competition, but between clubs rather than between individuals. The judges do not know the source of the images, though they may occasionally have a very good idea from the quality and subject. |
Exhibitions

National and International Exhibitions A number of club members regularly submit photographs to National and International Exhibitions and some members have achieved distinctions from various photographic organisations. Midphot This exhibition, held at Smethwick Club Room in March, closes for entries in early February, is open to all photographers in the Midlands Counties (whether a club member or not), and is sponsored on behalf of the MCPF (the Midland Counties Photographic Federation). Photo-Folio This exhibition is open to all clubs in the MCPF. The entries must be made as a joint club entry. The prints and slides are exhibited during the first week of June. The best of them are selected to form the basis of the MCPF Portfolio. |
